Alexis Annis,
Associate Director, Finance and Operations
Alexis Annis serves as the Associate Director, Finance and Operations for the Cowen Institute. Over the last decade, she has developed expertise in building systems and improving processes in the areas of corporate retail, the nonprofit arts and spent the previous five years as a founding member of Zony Mash Beer Project, a local start-up brewery, taproom, and events venue. During her tenure at the brewery, she engaged in a range of volunteer work, including a collaboration with the New Orleans Musician’s Clinic and Assistance Foundation’s Makin’ Groceries program to provide food security for the city’s culture bearers in response to the pandemic. This work led her back to her passion for community development and after a long hiatus, Alexis returned to school to earn her Master of Public Administration with a focus on nonprofit leadership from the University of New Orleans. She looks forward to contributing her knowledge and skills to support the education initiatives of the Cowen Institute.
